JOIN US IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE AND combating hunger in the united states
Global Millennials for Progress is excited to partner with C.R.E.D.O. and the leading national hunger non-profit in launching our 1 Million Meal Challenge. C.R.E.D.O. is a U.S.-based 501(c)3 community development organization that works directly with inner-city communities to provide educational, food, and professional resources. Our collective goal is to combat hunger and food insecurity across the United States by donating 1 million meals by December 2018.
In the United States, 1 in 8 people struggle with hunger. With the help of our partners, we will join numerous other efforts combating hunger and once and for all change this reality.
When you give to our 1 Million Meal Challenge, you are joining us in the fight against hunger. For every $1 donated, we are able to support networks of food banks that distribute 11 meals to people facing hunger.
$1 = 11 meals
What is food insecurity and what does it look like in America?
Food insecurity refers to USDA’s measure of lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members and limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods.
Food insecure households are not necessarily food insecure all the time. Food insecurity may reflect a household’s need to make trade-offs between important basic needs, such as housing or medical bills, and purchasing nutritionally adequate foods.
